Blackburn: ‘It Will Take a Generation to Rebuild Trust in the Federal Government’

Overreach by the IRS and the Justice Department has eroded public trust in the federal government and could have a lasting impact, Representative Marsha Blackburn (R., Tenn.) said Sunday on Meet the Press.

“I think that the attorney general has definitely lost the trust of the American people,” she said. ”People feel betrayed by the conduct of this administration and this attorney general.”

“People are wanting answers,” Blackburn added. ”They don’t want excuses, they want accountability, they don’t want evasion. I think it will take a generation to rebuild trust in the federal government.”
