You just never know what you’re going to learn when you read legal coverage from Dahlia Lithwick. Here it’s that Justice Samuel Alito is the swing vote on abortion; that “for all practical purposes women can’t get an abortion in Ohio, North Dakota, or Florida”; and that all of a sudden pro-lifers have started demanding laws that are inconsistent with Roe v. Wade. I didn’t know any of those things before reading Lithwick. Come to think of it, I still don’t know any of those things.
Ohio’s government reported 29,000 abortions in 2009, the last year for which data is available.
