In a column the other day I mentioned the trial of Charles I in 1649.
There was a multi-part drama about the Civil War shown on TV in Britain –
presumably on the BBC — some years ago. It dealt with the fortunes of a
fictional English family divided by the war, but it included a very fine
enactment of King Charles’s trial. Trouble is, I can’t for the life of me
recall the name of the thing. The BBC-TV shop is no help (though they have some really good stuff). Anybody
know what I’m thinking of?
