Jonah, I was thinking about impeachment too. This debate will be just as toxic and vengeful, politics as blood sport (to borrow the title of the James Stewart Clinton book). In a fight like this, you can’t predict who will get consumed. Which is why it was so foolish of Obama to unleash the furies by releasing the OLC memos and playing footsie with the idea of punishing Bush lawyers. I wonder how desperately Nancy Pelosi would prefer to be “looking forward, not backward” right now.
