House Republican leader John Boehner just stopped by the Republican Platform Committee meeting to buck up the troops. Boehner called out a couple of birthday celebrants in the house and led the delegates in singing them “Boehner’s birthday song.” The lyrics in their entirety:

This is your birthday song. It doesn’t last too long.

The substance of Boehner’s short speech was domestic energy production: “Our members have been on the floor for three weeks waiting for Nancy Pelosi to call Congress back into session to vote on our all-of-the-above energy plan,” he said. “When we get back in September, this issue is not going away.”
