Boiling Frogs, Shuffling Deck Chairs

Yesterday Derb addressed the tiredness of the boiling frog analogy. I have inherited from my Dad an exhaustion with “re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.” My Dad used to always ask me “Why can’t we say ‘that’s like re-arranging the deck chairs on the Lusitania?’ or the Andrea Doria? It’s not like shuffling the furniture on those ships would have done a bit of good.
