There are still lots of stores that are either sold out or that never stocked up in the first place. That’s frustrating, but Random House is rushing new copies to all of the relevant outlets as we speak. But what’s sort of mysterious is how many bookstores tell would-be customers that the book hasn’t been published yet. They claim that’s what their computers say. If you sent me an email like that recently or if you encounter that problem at a store that isn’t carrying the book, I’d be grateful if you could shoot me an email telling me about it, including the date and location of the store.
