The Bookman

The new issue of The University Bookman is now out, and parts of it are available online here. The Bookman was founded in 1960 by Russell Kirk and has long been associated with National Review. It recently came under the editorship of Gerald Russello, who is an occasional contributor to NRO. I haven’t finished reading Gerald’s first issue yet, but I did enjoy this (negative) critique of Philip Pullman, who is trying to become our anti-C.S. Lewis.

John J. Miller, the national correspondent for National Review and host of its Great Books podcast, is the director of the Dow Journalism Program at Hillsdale College. He is the author of A Gift of Freedom: How the John M. Olin Foundation Changed America.
