Boom To Bust in Eire

Ireland’s economy has been a wonder of the developed world for a long time, but now it appears that a downturn is in the offing. The country hasn’t experienced a recession since 1983, believe it or not. The list of current economic challenges will sound familiar: the international credit crisis, a housing and construction market collapse, falling consumer spending, record-high oil prices, and a strong euro.

I blame the Federal Reserve.
