Boris Johnson’s Authoritarian Side

Contrary to Brendan O’Neill, it doesn’t look all that menacing. Johnson’s offenses against libertarianism, as he lists them, are: a ban on drinking on subway cars; the placement of metal detectors in train and subway stations; the removal of public-transport passes from young people who commit misdemeanors; and no longer paying for city officials to take flights within the U.K.
