There’s one thing to add to Christina Hoff Sommers’ terrific interview with Honor: A History author James Bowman. In the book, Bowman discusses terrorism at some length and puts forth the intriguing argument that today’s terrorists are motivated by Arab tribal notions of honor as much as by radical Islam. In other words, our fight against radical Islamists is in fact bigger than just a fight against radical Islamists (as if that weren’t big enough). It’s a fresh and fascinating point, and well worth a read.
