‘Fire Mueller’

Brad Parscale, Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign manager, tweeted this a little while ago:

A few thoughts:

Maybe this is an effort to change the subject from the kids-in-cages storyline? Say what you will about either story, the White House has at least figured out its messaging on the Mueller probe. You can’t say the same thing about the family-separation policy that dare not be called policy.

While I think the IG report offers some helpful ammo for the White House, I’m not sure it does what Parscale says it does — in much the same way that President Trump’s claim that it totally exonerates him is untrue. But I also think there’s a logical hitch to these claims. If it’s all bogus and Trump did nothing wrong, why act like you’re scared of what Mueller will find?

Last, there’s one person who I am sure will agree with Parscale here: his predecessor in the job of campaign manager, Paul Manafort. The only problem is that he may not see this tweet for a while, given that he’s in jail.
