Brandon Patty Ends House Campaign, Endorses DeSantis for Reelection

On Wednesday night, Marco Rubio was set to be the “special guest” at a fund-raiser for Brandon Patty, a House candidate in Florida’s 6th District.

But after Rubio’s announcement Wednesday morning that he would seek reelection to the Senate, things have changed.

Patty tells National Review he is ending his campaign, and endorsing Representative Ron DeSantis, who currently holds the 6th District seat and who is now running for reelection, having ended his own campaign for Senate following Rubio’s decision.

What was set to be a fundraiser for Patty at the VFW in Washington, D.C. will now be “a thank you event with supporters and friends,” Patty says.

As a result, Patty says, “Senator Rubio will not be attending.”
