As one farmer in Collinsville, Illinois told me, “the Mexicans like to sweat out there in the fields and don’t complain. They laugh and have fun. You can’t get a white person to do that.”
Replace “Illinois” with “South Carolina” and “Mexicans” with “Negroes,” and you see clearly what the illegal immigration issue is really about.
