Brings Back Memories

Remember trying to figure out what John Kerry’s Iraq policy was?

This afternoon, CNN reported that, despite his demands for troops to be withdrawn by the end of the year, his latest amendment will change that to July 1, 2007. His website, though, still says to demand that they be out by the end of the year. Here and here.

Here’s the relevant (rough) portion of the CNN transcript:

BASH: The most prominent is john kerry and cnn has learned senator kerry will unveil and propose his own amendment tomorrow on the senate floor. He’s going to say according to sources in kerry’s office that he wants troops to be fully withdrawn, all combat troops to come home by july/g 1st2007, his initial plan was to pull troops home by the end of this year. They pushed that back six months.| Why? First of all there was a vote on that plan last week. Republicans surprised senator kerry by offering his own plan on the senate floor, but what they say on the senate floor is they hope they can get as many votes as they can and by pushing the exit dates back, they can achieve from that.

WOLF: Basically a year from now he would like all troops redeemployment outside of iraq, dana and ed henry part of the best political team on television, cnn, america’s campaign headquarters.
