This morning, as the names of those murdered 25 years ago today in the September 11 attack on the United States were being read in memoriam, the British people were protected — for now — from assisted suicide by a vote of Parliament.
Thanks be to God. The last thing we need is more murder. And, I’m sorry, all good intentions aside, that is what assisted suicide is. It’s a poison to medicine and implicating doctors in exactly what they are meant to be opposed to: doing harm.
