California Democrat Scott Wiener’s Appalling Response to a Woman Harassed by a Trans-Identifying Man

Grant Freeman is a man who in 2022 pleaded guilty to beating his wife Alexis. According to court documents obtained by the New York Post, she required surgery to fix her fractured jaw. It’s unclear when Grant began to identify as a woman, but he does — and he even took his now-ex-wife’s first name, Alexis, and changed his surname to Black.

“Alexis Black” went viral last week after he harassed women in a locker room at a Gold’s Gym in Beverly Hills. Singer-songwriter Tish Hyman posted a series of videos online in which Hyman confronted Freeman, who exposed his penis in the women’s locker room and watched women change, Hyman said.

“I’m a woman, and I have every right to not want a man in the restroom when I’m naked,” Hyman said in one of the videos.

Gold’s Gym allegedly kicked Hyman out of the facilities for protesting the presence of a man in the women’s locker room. In a TMZ interview, Freeman, who still looks and sounds like a man, lauded his “self-feminine power” and said that because he “knows” he is a woman, he should be able to use women’s facilities.

Hyman is enraged at and completely bewildered by California policies that allow men to use women’s facilities without scrutiny. So enraged, in fact, that she attended an event this week with California State Senator Scott Wiener, to ask the politician if he would commit to protecting women and girls from men.

Wiener, who self-describes as “one of the strongest LGBTQ civil rights champions in the nation,” brushed aside her concerns.

“As a lesbian woman who was attacked in the women’s locker room at Gold’s Gym this week, by a self-identifying trans woman, with a documented history of domestic violence, I’m deeply concerned about women’s safety in female-only spaces. What would you say to women who are seeking assurance that their safety will be protected from men who by California law can self-identify as women in women-only spaces? Sir, please tell me,” Hyman asked.

“Yeah, so, we want, I mean, everyone to be safe, um, and we also know that, you know, we have trans people, both men and women, who are men and women. Uh, and so uh, you know, we, so, if you’re a — trans woman are women.”

Wiener continued:

“I think we need to protect the safety of all women, and obviously that’s incredibly important. I also know that trans women are also brutalized in this country. So women and cisgender women are brutalized in this country, and we have to protect the safety of all women.”
