It’s not just spin: the California races for governor and senator are really tightening. A few days ago, the PPP survey had Jerry Brown leading Meg Whitman by 11 points, and Barbara Boxer ahead of Carly Fiorina by 9. The latest survey from this Democratic pollster now has Brown up by only 5 (51-46) and Boxer by 4 (50-46).
