From a reader:
Jonah, In case you’re interested in the sitrep in California, here’s what’s going on in the poll place in my corner of the Bay Area: – At 2:30pm, I was the 32nd person to cast a ballot at my polling place– When I asked the volunteers if this was an extremely low turnout, they said about half of the area turns in ballots by mail. So maybe they’ll get more than 60 votes in our neighborhood . . .– They handed me a sticker with this text on it: on top – I voted, on the bottom – Yo Vote, and some form of Chinese in the absolute center of the sticker. I think we’re looking at a pretty low turnout here. After running a marathon from 2000 to 2004, maybe we’ve hit the political fatigue wall.
