Cameron Vs Davis

Sadly for those of us who are enthused by his ideas for combining conservatism and causes which, for no good reason, have been regarded as “progressive,” Dr. Liam Fox lost narrowly in the second round of voting for the leadership of the British Conservative Party. The votes were: David Cameron 90 (up from 56), David Davis 57 (down from 62) and Liam Fox 51 (up from 42). The party membership will now have a chance to vote and, barring unforeseen events, it is likely that they will vote overwhelmingly for the talented, young and charismatic David Cameron. In the campaign, however, I believe it is vital for the party that this is not seen as a “left versus right” struggle. In that respect, it will be interesting to see to whom Dr. Fox gives his backing.
