The Corner

Can We Please Keep This Exclusively a Sports Headline?

The Democrats trounced the Republicans” — in the annual congressional baseball game. The Dem fan section included “Roberts MVP” posters, for something new — and I suspect short-lived. The right message from yesterday was that line in the majority opinion: “It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices.” MSNBC commentators got giddier as the day went on, it seemed, yesterday, while some conservatives were despondent.

I am not sure that is the way it will play out in political history though. The Court took a veil off Obamacare. Tax is a taxing word these days, especially. Combine that with the unsustainability of the thing, the unprecedented attacks on religious freedom, and the disingenuousness of the whole endeavor — making the case against this milestone of the administration just became a little easier.
