Carney: ‘I Haven’t Seen’ Report of Reid Exempting Staff from Obamacare

Amid calls of hypocrisy aimed at Harry Reid for sparing his staff from Obamacare, Jay Carney claimed he was unaware of the Senate majority leader’s decision.

The White House press secretary first encouraged Fox News’s Ed Henry to reach out to Reid’s office when asked to address the inconsistency of Reid’s support for the law and his refusal to apply it to his staff. When pressed again, Carney responded, “I haven’t seen that, so I’d direct you to the senator’s office.”

It was reported on Wednesday that Reid would allow some of his staffers to keep their current plans and avoid having to purchase health insurance on the exchanges.
