Casey Takes on Ryan

As he looks to November, Sen. Bob Casey (D., Pa.) urges Democrats to pressure Republican candidates to take a position on the fiscal roadmap proposed by Rep. Paul Ryan (R. Wis.).

“Look at Paul Ryan’s agenda,” Casey tells National Review Online. “People are starting to pay attention. Every Republican running this year should be asked that question: Do you support the Ryan agenda or not? It’s an important question . . . privatizing social security, Medicare voucher programs — these aren’t just theories, they’ve got it in writing.”

Casey adds that if Democrats can frame the fall midterms as a “real choice and not a referendum on Democrats,” then Joe Sestak (D., Pa.) will beat former congressman Pat Toomey in Pennsylvania’s U.S. Senate race.
