It’s worse than I thought. From a reader who attended GU about 10 years after me:
“Sadly, Georgetown University is now a Catholic school in name only. When Cardinal Arinze of Nigeria spoke at Commencement a few years ago, several professors staged a walk-out because he spoke out against abortion, divorce, adultery and homosexuality, and the school’s administration apologized *to the professors* for the Cardinal’s remarks.”
ME: The speaker at my commencement was Mother Teresa, and her exhortation to us to preserve our virginity for our eventual spouses was met with a certain degree of puzzlement, but at least no one walked out.
