Why yes, there are!…L.A. bookstores that are not suffocatingly smug, that is.
My own favorite neighborhood bookstore, Skylight Books, on Vermont Ave. in the Los Feliz area of L.A., is smug, but not suffocatingly. Plus it’s right next door to a $5 (for matinees) movie theater, and has a big orange cat in the window.
Crunchy Cons would love it. And if they don’t, they should.
Rod should schedule a booksigning at Skylight. I’d do it just for the Los Feliz “book tour stop.” All about work! Even the stop by Venice Beach…even…whatever else sounds like a vacation that you can call work while you’re there. Just sent a postcard, dude. On recycled paper is fine.
