Cenk Uygur’s Not-So-New Antisemitic Ad

The ludicrous new ad from Cenk Uygur, contending that Americans pay high prices at the grocery store because of the cost of U.S. aid to Israel, is not new at all. He ran the same ad, back in 2024, as part of his push for a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas.

That’s one reason why the ad features a bizarrely outdated complaint about expensive eggs costing seven dollars per dozen. As of last month, the average egg price was $2.72.

The new ad just has a tacked-on ending, contending that Mike Rogers is for “they/them” — i.e., the Jews — and not for you.

The ad is appalling; it doesn’t count as a dog whistle because dog whistles are supposed to be difficult to hear.

But it’s also weird that Uygur is rerunning an old ad and getting a whole new round of controversy out of it.
