The Washington Post says he’s got the Judiciary Committee all but locked up. There’s nothing in the story about hugs for Specter, but the article does quote Hatch: “Nobody in the meeting was against Arlen. … Senator Specter handled himself very well. … I’m for him, as I should be.” Reminds me of an old saying: Don’t count your Hatch before he’s chickened.
