I’m delighted to let our readers know that I have appointed Charlie Cooke editor of National Review Online. Charlie doesn’t need any introduction around here — everyone knows his trenchant and fearless writing. Charlie may be a Brit, but is an impassioned and deeply knowledgeable advocate of American liberties. Don’t expect radical changes in the site, since Charlie has been informally manning the helm at NRO for a while now. We have been blessed in our editors, first Jonah Goldberg and then Kathryn Lopez, who poured themselves into the site and over-saw its evolution and growth. Charlie will be guiding NRO in its next phase, and we’re grateful to have him.
