Krauthammer’s Take: Hillary Wants to Invoke the ‘Memory of the 1990s’ in 2016

Charles Krauthammer analyses Hillary Clinton’s decision to use the “memory of the ’90s” in her 2016 campaign:

It’s the ultimate gaff: She said what she really believes [on coal policy in West Virginia] and she’s been running away from it ever since. There’s no way to run away from it. It will definitely hurt her in the Appalachian coal country.

She has this tricky deal — she wants to run on the glowing memory of the ’90s. On the other hand, the minute she brings it up, all the other stuff in the ’90s comes flowing in. And there’s no way to avoid the second when you invoke the first.
