A blurb by Jonah Goldberg on a new book by Charles Murray describes the author as, “Arguably, the most consequential social scientist alive.” Yes, indeed, and so I was delighted to hear of the book, Taking Religion Seriously, and to get an advance copy of it. It is a measured and personal account of Murray’s path (back) to Christianity — describing, first, the increasing evidence that God exists (that is, that the materialist worldview just doesn’t work) and, second, that Jesus of Nazareth is divine (that is, that the historicity of the New Testament, especially the Gospels, is solid). I highly recommend the book, which is being published later this week, and have a longer discussion of it here.
