Chirac in China

Andrew: I hope readers took a good look at the Telegraph article you mentioned yesterday on Chirac dishonoring the victims of Tienanmen Square. What really struck me was the French president’s statement that the arms embargo on China, which is supported by the United States and several European countries, is “motivated purely and simply by hostility toward China.” Typical race-card nonsense, and especially obnoxious coming from the French. I also noted that Chirac was in China to help that country launch its “Year of France” celebration. This is apparently not to be confused with the “Year of the Rat” or the “Year of the Weasel.”
