Christie Heads Back to New Jersey for Blizzard Response

Last night, Chris Christie got a little grief about his campaign schedule . . .

Today Christie announced he’s heading back to New Jersey, even though the state government is prepared, just to make sure the state’s response to the impending blizzard runs smoothly.

We've Got Snow Coming And I've Got To Go Home

“Despite the fact that I’ve been on the phone seven or eight times in the past two days to get updates from the National Weather Service, and to lay out the plans for how we’re going to deploy resources, talk to the National Guard, talk to the Department of Transportation, talk to the Department of Environmental Protection, make sure everybody knows what they’re doing, they’ll feel better if I’m there,” Christie told a New Hampshire audience. “So I’m going to go back this afternoon. You’re going to be the last event that I do today.”

His schedule for the weekend is up in the air: “We’ll see how conditions look after the day tomorrow and if they’re what I think they will be, which is plowed and under control and the weekend so nobody is having to run anywhere, then I’ll come back on Sunday and I’ll resume my schedule on Sunday if I can do that. If the conditions are worse than what I expect, then I may not see you Sunday, I may not see you until Monday. But I will be back and I will be able to do both things.”

Hey, storm response is a big part of the Christie brand.
