Chris Matthews: Obama Is 2013’s Biggest Political Loser

First Politifact “awarded” President Obama with its “Lie of the Year,” then he “won” the Washington Post’s Chris Cillizza’s “Worst Year in Washington,” and now even Chris Matthews is calling the president the biggest political loser of 2013. “It’s a terrible year for the president,” he said on Morning Joe on Friday.

Reflecting on how just a year ago, President Obama was prepping for his second inauguration, Matthews said there was “no sense of ‘wow’” in the year since his reelection.

“There’s an erosion in interest,” he said. “It feels like a very long presidency now — it feels like the seventh or eighth year of a presidency, it doesn’t feel like the fifth.”
