Chris Matthews: Rand Paul a ‘Pissant’

MSNBC’s Chris Matthews lashed out at Rand Paul, repeatedly calling the Kentucky senator a “pissant” for his criticism of New Jersey governor Chris Christie. Last week, during a Senate hearing, Paul chastised Christie for appearing in television ads showcasing his state’s recovery efforts after Hurricane Sandy.

“Here’s some real pissant . . . I want to say something about Rand Paul: He’s getting smaller by the minute,” Matthews said last week. “It’s a pissant comment.” He went on to criticize Paul, as well as his fellow Republican senator Ted Cruz, who questioned Christie’s decision to expand Medicaid in the state, arguing that their shots at Christie signaled a “lack of chivalry” and magnanimity.
