Chris Matthews is worried about whether his pachyderm friends are being taken care of during the government shutdown.
“I’m wondering who’s feeding the elephants at the Washington zoo,” Matthews wondered aloud on Tuesday afternoon. “What’s still being done?”
The federal government officially shut down at midnight on Tuesday, forcing Washington, D.C.’s National Zoo and other federally funded institutions and government agencies to close their doors and furlough hundreds of thousands of federal workers.
