Christie Addresses GWB Closure During State of State

In his first public remarks since the bridge-closure controversy, New Jersey governor Chris Christie vowed that his administration will cooperate with any investigations.

“The last week has certainly tested this administration,” Christie said before the New Jersey legislature in Trenton on Tuesday, during his fourth State of the State address. “Mistakes were clearly made and, as a result, we let down the people we’re entrust to serve.”

Christie emphasized that as governor he is “responsible for all that happens on [his] watch, both good and bad.” But he also urged the legislature to not let the investigations distract from or delay the other important work that needs to be done on behalf of the state’s citizens.
