His press conference so far has been blunt and effective — assuming, of course, that what he’s saying is right. He’s talked a lot about “soul searching” over how this could happen. Here’s a guess: almost every single thing he did in the run-up to last November was geared to making the rubble bounce in his re-election, no matter what.
