THE CHURCHGOING VOTE IN VIRGINIA

The Allen-Webb exit polls, if accurate, suggest that Webb has made significant inroads among religious voters.  Among people who called themselves evangelical or born-again Christians, Webb got 36 percent of the vote to Allen’s 63 percent. Among those who say they attend church more than once a week, Webb got 38 percent of the vote to Allen’s 61 percent.
