Clarke For President!

Derb: You didn’t mention my favorite Arthur C. Clarke novel, Rendezvous with Rama. Its themes of unknowability and the limits of scientific rationalism always have struck me as deeply conservative. Childhood’s End is a great book, too, and so is the short story collection The Nine Billion Names of God.
