Unsurprisingly, the U.K.’s parliamentary investigation into Climategate whitewashed the implications for climate science, although they did wag a disapproving finger at the University of East Anglia for being naughty about the Freedom of Information Act. Even the Guardian thought they let them off too easily, and that’s saying something. I summarize the issue over at Openmarket.
In particular, the committee completely missed the point of the self-described “trick” to “hide the decline” in temperatures: Dr Jones was saying one thing in the literature and another to policymakers. MPs, being policymakers themselves, should have caught on to that one.
