Clinton Defends Madeleine Albright Telling Female Sanders Voters They’re Going to Hell

Hillary Clinton this morning laughed off the controversy over Madeleine Albright telling female voters ”there’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help each other out.” Appearing on Meet the Press, Clinton began laughing when host Chuck Todd asked about the comments.

“Oh, look,” Clinton said, ”Madeleine has been saying this for many, many years” — referring to a 2007 Starbucks cup that carries a similar statement.

“You can understand why some might have been offended?” Todd replied.

Clinton chalked the controversy up to excessive political correctness: ”Well, good grief, we’re getting offended about everything these days. Honest to goodness, I mean, people can’t say anything without offending somebody.”
