Dee Dee Meyers’s new piece on Vanity Fair’s website reads like she is in an awkward position. She clearly wants to denounce — and does — Obama speechwriter Jon Favreau’s photo with “Hillary Clinton.” But the piece ends without her calling for a Favreau-free Obama administration. Presumably she doesn’t go that far because she is burdened with “press secretary, Bill Clinton” on her resume. In fairness, Meyers has been critical of both the former president and men more generally. But, still, she can’t quite bring herself to say “President-Elect Obama, he’s not worthy.” The problem? One free grope. Gloria will never have her back.
