Club for Growth Airs Anti-Lugar Ad

The Club for Growth is running a new television ad against Senator Dick Lugar (R., Ind.) entitled, “Clinging.” The free-market-advocacy group is supporting his challenger, state treasurer Richard Mourdock, in the May 8 primary.

“What’s happened to Dick Lugar?” the narrator asks. “He was a respected national leader, a statesman. Then, he became part of the problem, joining the liberals in voting for record debt, bailouts, and tax hikes. Now, he’s clinging to power, throwing mud at conservative Richard Mourdock with ads that have been called ‘misleading,’ ‘weak,’ and ‘desperate.’” The ad’s sources include yours truly.

The ad concludes, “Dick Lugar: Thirty-five years in Washington is enough.” Watch below.
