Club for Growth Says Trump’s No Conservative

The Club for Growth attacked Donald Trump in a statement today, calling him “a tax-hiking liberal whose open flirtation with single-payer health care and warm embrace of protectionism disqualifies him from consideration by conservatives.”

The Club cited Trump’s advocacy in his 2000 book The America We Deserve for universal health-care and  for “a one-time, 14.25 percent tax on individuals and trusts with a net worth over $10 million,” as reasons conservatives shouldn’t back Trump, along with his current support for taxing Chinese imports at 25 percent.
