Federal officials tasked with fixing Healthcare.gov have no idea how much it may cost to fix the wbsite, based on their testimony — or lack thereof — during today’s House Oversight Committee hearing.

Officials from HHS, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the White House, and the Government Accountability Office sat in silence as Representative Jimmy Duncan (R., Tenn.) twice asked the panel whether they knew how much their efforts to repair the dysfunctional website are “going to cost us in the end.”

An official with Government Accountability Office admitted that they were “blind” to the ultimate costs. The site’s original construction, according to Duncan, cost about $600 million.
