Code Pink Disrupts Syria Hearing

Never one to miss out on making itself heard, Code Pink made its presence immediately felt at today’s hearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Before the hearing even began, a protester with the group called on senators to not take military action in Syria. He cited “health care and education in our country” as more important issues for Congress to take up before he was eventually escorted out.

The Washington Post’s Aaron Blake notes that Code Pink founder Medea Benjamin was the first member of the public in line to get a seat at the hearing.
