College Officials Shrug Off Incendiary Speech

For decades, vitriolic speech from leftists has been tolerated — just one of those things. Calling those who disagree with them Nazis, racists, etc. was merely an exercise of free speech and so what if it wasn’t truthful?

A professor who has been targeted by the left is Adam Ellwanger, an instructor at the University of Houston-Downtown. As he explains in this Campus Reform article, he used to take a “sticks and stones” view of the left’s nasty language, but recently felt the need to see if school officials would do anything.

He writes:

As this was not the first unprovoked harassment inflicted upon me by this very instructor, I knew I could establish a pattern of hostility. There was a common theme to her attacks. They all centered on my political orientation, my racial background, and my appearance. After all, you can’t be a “Nazi white supremacist” if you’re not white . . . right?

After sitting on Ellwanger’s complaint for months, the administration finally dismissed it. No big deal to be called a “Nazi white supremacist.”

Fortunately, university rules allow him to appeal and he is doing so.
