Come Back

On his blog, David Frum posts Peter Ferrara’s criticism of him, and his own response. I guess my question to David is:  Wouldn’t he support, for example, Bush’s prescription-drug program as an example of the kind of alternative approach to liberal policies he has been preaching?  As I recall, the Democrat proposal was more substantial than the Bush plan and that was one of its selling points with Republicans.  I am no fan of any of it, but that said, why isn’t David praising Bush’s action as the kind of new thinking he seems to be promoting?  If taxes have to be raised to pay for, among other things, the Bush prescription drug program, isn’t that a consequence of Republicans adopting Frum’s strategy?
