Congratulations John

Today at noon former NR contributing editor John Hillen was sworn in as Assistant Secretary of State for Politcal-Military Affairs by Secretary of State Rice. Before a large group, including his proud family, old friends (military and civilian), and new and former colleagues, John took his oath of office following a short speech by the Secretary highlighting his impressive credentials. The Secretary emphasized his service as a young officer during the Gulf War and his solid reputation as a gifted “thinker.” His NR colleagues are delighted that a talent such as John will have a critically important portfolio on Condoleezza Rice’s new team at State. More good news for conservatives this week.

I am weary, pressed for time, in desperate need of a shower, and filled with a great sense of dread for the work ... Read More
