I get a lot of grief from liberal readers when I admit to being bored with certain Republican scandals, most notably the Abramoff story. Well, in fairness, I should say that the Harry Reid story promises to be very boring too. Maybe he’s guilty of something bad and if so, he should be held accountable. But clever land deals and accusations of that kind of corruption I find boring, not because they’re unimportant, but because they’re so unsurprising. There are no interesting ideas at stake, no complex motivations. Most folks want to make a lot of money. Some of them cut corners and do bad things in order to do so. I don’t condone it and I’m glad we have a system that investigates allegations of this sort. But, speaking for only myself: B-O-R-I-N-G.

Who cares if it boring? Call for investigations, create the illusion there is much more there than there is…
The Dems are much more aggressive about such things (and end up looking stupid most of the time) but we were less than 4 weeks away and have nothing else to lose but the House and the senate?
And, I agree with you, it is boring…
